Area rugs made from natural wool, a traditional fiber renowed for its durability, softness and beauty, are more than ever among favourites for interior design of private houses, prestigious shops, public building, hotels and hospitalities.

They are available from us either from our various wool rugs and area rugs collections: power loomed wool rugs on wilton looms, handmade hand tufted rugs section I, hand tufted rugs section II, hand wooven and hand knotted rugs or for bespoke rugs they can be custom made by hand tufting to any individual or contract order.

Parquet flooring or laminate flooring sales increase over the last few years, as generally speaking the sharp growth of smooth flooring against carpets eventually re-generated a great interest for those essential elements to interior design and home improvement for ages : The RUGS....

Those premium quality wool rugs are woven either from 100% Pure New Zealand Wool (which is considered to be the finest wool in the world) for the power loomed woven ones as for the handmade hand tufted ones and 100% Woolmark Wool for the area rugs plain and textured with solid borders

Over the last 25 years CHOLLETON and its distributors supplied on a regular basis custom made hand tufted rugs 100% wool pile for exclusive private projects, state or privately owned residences mansions and palaces as to numerous prestigious hotel locations

Each of those beautiful area rugs is a unique piece of art and contribute to any home improvement and interior design.

Our custom made rugs are made by using the hand-tufting manufacturing technique.

Certainly this is among the most sumptuous types of carpet made, offering infinite design opportunities and variations as total freedom for crativity.

As a result we are using only those yarns blended with 100% New Zealand wool of the highest possible quality..

We can also incorporate gold/silver LUREX yarn type (in thin lines and loop pile only).

As the name implies, this type of carpet is produced by craftsmen who draw the design on the canvas which will become the carpet's anchor backing

These craftspeople then "tuft" the carpet using pneumatic "tufting guns" to insert various coloured yarns into a backing. Rugs and carpets piles manufactured in this manner may be either "cut velvet" or "loop pile" finish and of course using a mixt of cut pile and loop pile finishes with at the meantime varying pile heights (multi levels rugs and carpets) within the same rug or carpet will achieve rich and sometimes spectacular textured or sculptured effect.

Specific details or portion of any design from hand tufted rugs and carpets may also be "highlighted" or "underlined" by using carving technique.

Hand-made wool rugs are typically thicker and some time more dense than their machine-made counterparts

This collection divided into several area rugs ranges: Athena rugs, Louvre and Mykene or Mykene silk and now also new Iriana, Persiana and Scala wool rugs. It is offering a large selection of rug designs within very different styles available in various rug shapes and sizes, including round rugs and exagonal rugs or wool rug runners all made of 100 % New Zealand pure wool
